health to wellnessTribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court is an individualized and holistically framed judicial process that provides collaborative, therapeutic, culturally integrative judicial processes for tribal youth who are engaged in delinquent behaviors and suffer from addiction to alcohol or illicit substances. The Tribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court strives to increase individual and community safety by holding youth accountable for delinquent behaviors, while also providing therapeutic processes within a culturally supportive framework.

The application of wellness court processes for a youth audience requires the judicial practitioner to understand concepts both pertinent to youth along with the foundational concepts of the wellness court approaches. Because we know that youth have unique developmental needs, it is important for a wellness court team to take these needs into account when engaging youth participants within the Tribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court.
